Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, purchasing a Buyer's Pass, or otherwise accessing any part of CarScout, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. These Terms constitute a binding legal agreement between you and CarScout.

2. Service Description

CarScout is a price-intelligence platform for used-car buyers. We scan publicly available listings, compare them against national pricing data, and surface deals where local markets are overpriced. CarScout is not a car marketplace, dealer, listing site, or broker. We do not buy, sell, or broker vehicles. We do not act as an agent for any dealer or private seller. We facilitate introductions to logistics providers for transportation only — the car transaction itself is solely between you and the seller.

3. Buyer's Pass Subscription

The Buyer's Pass is a recurring monthly subscription priced at $19 per month. Your subscription begins on the date of purchase and renews automatically each calendar month. Billing is processed by Stripe, Inc. on our behalf; by subscribing you also agree to Stripe's applicable terms of service. Billing disputes are governed by Stripe's policies and your card issuer's dispute process.

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial-month refunds are issued unless required by applicable law. CarScout reserves the right to change subscription pricing with reasonable advance notice to your account email address.

4. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use CarScout to:

• Scrape, crawl, or systematically harvest pricing data, listings, or deal intelligence for resale or redistribution.
• Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercialize access to CarScout's data or features without written permission.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.
• Abuse contact or logistics-introduction features to harass dealers, carriers, or other users.
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with any access-control or security mechanism.
• Use the service in any manner that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

Car valuations, deal verdicts, and pricing comparisons provided by CarScout are estimates derived from publicly available listing data. They are not appraisals and carry no guarantee of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose. Market prices change rapidly; a deal flagged today may no longer be available or correctly priced tomorrow. Always perform independent due diligence before committing to a purchase.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CARSCOUT'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE FEES YOU PAID TO CARSCOUT IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. IN NO EVENT SHALL CARSCOUT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

7. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [jurisdiction — to be completed by legal counsel], without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
